“After 8 months working here, living and sharing with dozens of students and a group of young and energetic teachers, I have no doubt that what I want now is to study the course of GLOBAL ORGANIC FARMING.” Nestor Anaya, Spain.

Hello, my name is Nestor, I’m from Málaga and I’m 30 years old. I write from Kalø Økologisk Landbrugsskole, where I started as a student a week ago.

Two years ago I began to think that I preferred to live in the countryside, in contact with nature. I started looking for places to live with a group of friends who wanted to do the same, to start a community and be more self-sufficient. I realized that I didn’t have the necessary skills to start, so I looked for a place to learn. I decided to go to Denmark, to Kalø Økologisk Landbrugsskole to work on the farm as a volunteer. After 8 months working here, living and sharing with dozens of students and a group of young and energetic teachers, I have no doubt that what I want now is to study the course of global organic farming.

For me, studying this means freedom. Thanks to this course, I can have a profession, which gives me stability. And it is a profession that I can practice anywhere in the world. I can travel around the world, working in any country, I can work by seasons or work full time for someone, set up my own project or establish a project in common with other people and start a community. Many possibilities.

In addition, respect for animals is very important for me, as well as taking care of the natural balance, knowing and taking care of life in the soil in order to grow crops and collaborate with a global movement that tries to respect the environment. That’s why I prefer organic farming.

I don’t know if I will finally be able to live in a community, or I will have another project, but I am very excited about this course, and I am looking forward to seeing how this adventure, witch has just started, continues.
